The topic for the January meeting of the computers two group will be Windows 10. This session will be about sharing knowledge, issues and experiences with Windows 10. If you have a laptop with Windows 10 bring it along and if you are thinking of upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8, bring your questions.
The group meets on the 4th Thursday of the month at 2.30 pm.
We hold monthly meetings in the home of a member. One of us leads the session introducing a topic, using the U3A equipment: screen, projector and laptop. Members may also bring their own equipment e.g. tablets, laptops and phones. Time is left for members to raise questions on any topic or share ‘tips and tricks’ that others might find helpful.
Our topics have ranged from Internet security, backup systems to reviewing smart phones, photo sharing websites, online music and e-readers. Last year we also invited three guest speakers who led very interesting sessions on art online, getting more out of Microsoft Word, and connecting your devices at home. In 2016 we will be looking at a number of new topics including social networking, the cloud and online learning as well as running refreshers on some of those we covered in 2015.
As a new member you are welcome but you will probably get more out of the group if you are already using a laptop, desktop or tablet.
